Made with the world's cleanest water - 120 000 year old Greenlandic ice growlers

When ice becomes spirit

    Born in Ilulissat, Greenland

ISELDR Gin is more than a premium spirit—it’s an experience, distilled. Its name, derives from Old Norse - meaning “ice and fire”, a tribute to the forces that shape it. Water made from 130,000-year-old glacial ice, sourced from glacial growlers calved from Greenland’s mighty ice sheet. Fire, the transformative power of distillation, unlocking the bold, stunning and untamed flavours of traditional and Arctic botanicals.

    Ilulissat

In Greenlandic, Ilulissat means "the city of icebergs," an apt name for a place where towering glacial monoliths drift silently through the Ilulissat Icefjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

    120 000 years old ice

Here, at the edge of the world’s most productive glacier, time moves with the ice—slowly, relentlessly.

    Hunting for a new Future

    Survival

It is a place where survival has always depended on the land and sea, where hunters and fishermen still navigate the frozen wilderness using dog sleds, kayaks, and harpoons—skills passed down for generations.

    Adapt

But climate change is altering this landscape. As fish stocks decline, the people of Ilulissat must adapt. ISELDR Gin offers a new path—one that respects tradition while forging a sustainable future.

The Journey and Purity of Glacial Ice

    The ice

For thousands of years, snowfall has blanketed Greenland’s vast interior, slowly compressing into dense, ancient ice. As this ice moves toward the periphery, it calves into the ocean, forming floating growlers—small, ultra-dense ice fragments that remain untouched by modern pollution.

Only the oldest and purest of these growlers are harvested, using knowledge passed down through generations of Inughuits and fishermen. This ice, unchanged for millennia, is the foundation of ISELDR Gin’s extraordinary smoothness.

Creating Jobs and Preserving a Way of Life

ISELDR Gin is crafted without impacting the glaciers. The ice we use has already broken free, drifting toward the open sea where it would eventually melt—contributing to rising sea levels. By repurposing it, we celebrate a pristine resources without any exploitation.

At the edge of the world, in a region where economic opportunities are scarce, ISELDR Gin provides an alternative for fishermen struggling with dwindling catches. Their kayaks and boats, once used to harvest fish, now retrieve glacial ice, offering them a back up to sustain their families while preserving their traditions and way of life.

A Flavour as Bold as the Arctic beauty

Distilled with hand-picked Greenlandic juniper, angelica, and Qaajaasat to name a few, ISELDR Gin reflects the bold and remarkable untamed flavors of the Arctic.

Our botanicals are harvested under the midnight sun, when the Arctic experiences 24 hours of continuous daylight. Arctic botanicals, are smaller and more concentrated than their southern counterparts, they deliver an intense, distinctive profile unlike any other gin.

    A gin like no other

Blended with carefully selected oriental botanicals such as, coriander, citrus peels, and green cardamom, ISELDR Gin offers a complex yet silky-smooth experience - A burst of sweet mandarin on the nose, followed by a deep, robust finish driven by Arctic juniper, with a deep, lingering note of exceptional Arctic spices and with a slight hint of umami derived from 3 different seaweeds found along the icy coast.

    Our Commitment to Sustainability

    Sustainability

From sourcing hand-harvested glacier ice to using eco-friendly glass and reusable, organic packaging, ISELDR Gin is crafted with sustainability at its core.

    Minimum impact

Though shipping is necessary, Greenland’s remote location, as an island, means vessels must transport essential supplies year-round. Our shipments utilize otherwise empty return journeys to Denmark, ensuring minimal additional environmental impact.

    Commitment

At ISELDR Gin, we are deeply committed to protecting the fragile Arctic environment and continuously strive to reduce our ecological footprint.
